The Holding was founded in
November 1995 as a pioneer of a new model incorporating in its structure as partners, a
variety of industrialist active in a number of different fields. The experiences derived
out of managing corporations with multiple individuals as partners were helpful. Getting
started with 108 partners, Gucbirligi Holding now has 252 distinguished share holders,
each of who is a successful business person in their respective field of activities in
Izmir. This partnership proves to be a fine example in the country and an impressive
demonstration of social and economical solidarity between business people.
TEXTILES
Gucbirligi Tekstil A.S was founded for the purpose of manufacturing fine yarns and
various fabrics woven with such yarns.
Presently the facility is operating successfully with its 26.208 spins.
In addition to its manufacturing activities the company, in league with Technological
Development Foundation of Turkey is involved in a project whereby cultivation of cotton
with long and colored fibre is being researched.
CONSTRUCTION
There are two operations within the Group which are active in the field of construction:
1- GUC YAPI INSAAT, TURIZM, MUHENDISLIK, GAYRIMENKUL YATIRIMI SAN. VE TIC. A.S
2- EGE GUC INSAAT KONTROLORLUK SAN. VE TIC. A.S
Following projects are in progress with the involvement of these two firms:
• World Trade Center-Izmir: The first registered Trade Center in Turkey and the largest
integrated real estate development project of Europe.
• Kahramanlar Multi Storey Car Park: With its capacity to accommodate 1200 vehicles, the
parking lot will greatly relieve the parking problems prevailing in this densely populated
business and residential district.
• The “Tire Estate”: This mass housing project envisages to build 122 prestigious
apartment flats addressing the needs of the elite of Tire and the increasing number of
executives working in this new up and coming industrial town.
Romania - Bucharest Real Estate Development Project: Within the frame work of cooperation
between Turkey and Romania, and also making use of the geographical proximity, a large
Shopping Center has been constructed in that country.
ENERGY
• Gucbirligi Holding, through the consortium it structured, materialized its first
public project by participating in tenders opened up by the Turkish Electricity Authority
in connection with the privatization of energy distribution services.
• Liquid Natural Gas Conversion Plant is project Gucbirligi Holding is involved in
along with Mobil. The objective is to bring natural gas to Izmir as soon as possible.
• The Wind Farm project carried out by ARES A.S, a member of Gucbirligi Holding is
the only Wind Energy investment in the country that is based on the concept of “Build
Operate and Transfer.” Ares A.S will transfer the wind farm to the State, after an
agreed number of years having recuperated the investment costs plus profits.
MARKETING
A company in the name of Ege Guc Pazarlama, Ambalaj, Gida, Isletmecilik San ve Tic.
A.S was formed for the purpose of marketing the products manufactured by the members of
the Group and also conducting foreign trade operations.

Gucbirligi Holding, along with group members, represents a structure comprising of 252
partners. As for the structure in connection with the power distribution business, an
organized group of 3500 small scale investors and business people owns the largest portion
of the shares. The ongoing investments of the Holding is worth around 1 billion 77 million
U.S dollars and the operation employs 700 people. |
